Our Story

Nicole and Roberto El Tajin.jpg

Nicole and Roberto Reyna met in Mexico City in 2010 when Nicole was teaching English on a Fulbright Scholarship and Roberto was working for the Mexican government. Although he was living in Mexico City, Roberto had grown up in the coastal state of Veracruz, home to the birthplace of vanilla. In fact, Papantla, Veracruz, the capital of the vanilla industry in Mexico, was only about a 20-minute drive from his home.

Roberto eventually moved to the U.S. to be with Nicole, but on one of his trips home to visit family, he brought back vanilla beans because he knew Nicole would love to bake with them. Nicole had never seen such glossy, fragrant beans before and realized that they were something special. Knowing that it was very difficult to find good quality Mexican vanilla beans anywhere, she decided to share her newfound secret.

Shortly after, Nicole and Roberto began selling Mexican vanilla beans online and have been overwhelmed by the incredible support of their customers worldwide. They continue to be overjoyed to share this Mexican treasure with vanilla aficionados around the globe.
